Beyond installing new water services to individual homes along the new water main and connections between the existing and new water main, the contractor also continued to work on the storm sewer improvements between Montgomery Street and Shermer Road.
We understand there was some localized flooding within the construction area during last week’s heavy rain events. The Village and contractor are committed to ensuring there will be no adverse effects to the adjoining property owners during any storm events throughout the construction process. The Village and contractor are also committed to responding to any issues that may arise during these events. A few temporary solutions have been installed to alleviate flooding concerns during the construction process and prior to all the improvements being made.
Next week the contractor will continue, and hopefully complete, the storm sewer improvements between Montgomery Street and Shermer Road.
The week following Memorial Day, the contractor is anticipating to begin the triple 48-inch sanitary sewer detention system between Montgomery Street and Elm Street. There will be significant traffic and access implications during this construction. We will provide some additional information next week detailing what should be expected during the construction operations.
Thanks again for your patience and understanding during the construction operations. As stated previously, there will be no more scheduled water main shut downs for the project.
