Concrete Replacement Moves East to Elm and Harlem

This past week, Landmark Construction, the concrete sub-contractor, completed installing the concrete curb & gutter, driveways, and sidewalks from Shermer Road to Elm Street. A few areas of sidewalk were skipped due to the future gas main replacement project by Nicor.

DiMeo Brothers was on-site performing work in preparation for the concrete work. The contractor also began grading the lawns behind the concrete sidewalks and/or curb & gutter.

The internal lining contractor, Hoerr Construction, completed the lining of the existing storms sewers along the entire project site last week.

The contractor is not anticipating to work over the July 4th Holiday Weekend.

Next week, the contractors are moving to the blocks between Elm Street and Harlem Avenue to begin the roadway reconstruction. Work to be completed or started next week in this area includes:
·         Removal of existing concrete curb & gutter, sidewalks, and driveways.
·         Installation and grading of aggregate base materials under the concrete curb & gutter, sidewalks, and driveways
·         Installing new concrete curb & gutter, sidewalks, and driveways.
The contractor will strive to complete as much of this work as possible during the next week; however, it is likely that some of the work will continue through the following week of July 17th.

Residents will be notified regarding restrictions for accessing their driveways during concrete construction.

We apologize for the inconvenience the roadway improvements are causing to your daily lives.

Have a Happy and Safe July 4th Holiday.
