Road Reconstruction to Begin

This past week, the contractor performed work in preparation for roadway reconstruction. Work included manhole replacements, manhole adjustments, landscape grading, topsoil installation, and other miscellaneous tasks.

The contractor will be working this Saturday, July 26th, starting at 8:00 AM. Work to be performed includes removing the existing asphalt surface over the existing concrete.

Next week, the contractor will begin excavation to construct the new roadway . The work anticipated to be completed includes milling off the existing asphalt pavement where it still is present, removing the existing concrete pavement under the asphalt pavement, and excavating the existing soils to a depth of 12-inches.  As the existing pavement and soils are removed to the required depth, the soils will be evaluated for potential areas of weakness. Those areas will be further removed and replaced to produce a stable base.  A few layer of aggregate base will be installed on the soils prior to asphalt pavement being installed.

Residents will be notified prior to this work beginning and the restrictions it will have on access to your driveways. There will be no long-term closures as with the concrete work, just during working hours.

We apologize for the inconvenience the roadway improvements are causing to your daily lives.  The Village is committed to doing everything possible to ensure the project goes as smoothly as possible and completed in a timely manner. Thanks again for your patience and understanding.
